Chromira Prints

Chromira printing has been discontinued at Denver Digital Imaging Center. This service has been replaced by our superior Giclée pigmented ink large format printing process.

Chromira prints were high-quality photographic fine art prints produced on Fuji Crystal Archive paper using ZBE Chromira printers at 300 PPI (pixels per inch). The Chromira process used LED light sources to expose traditional photographic paper, combining the quality of chemical photographic prints with the precision of digital imaging.

While the Chromira process produced beautiful prints, advances in pigmented ink technology have made giclée printing the superior choice for fine art reproduction. Our current giclée process using 44-inch Epson printers with Epson Archival Ultrachrome pigmented inks delivers better archival longevity, a wider color gamut, and greater substrate versatility than the Chromira process offered.
